Can't believe I've not posted this here yet ......

Donna's list includes everyone from Webroot to Grisoft, to Irfanview, that bundle unwanted rubbish with their programs, and worse still - pre-check the rubbish for installation. Like many people, I find this practice absolutely disgusting, and if it were up to me, these programs websites would find themselves included in hpHosts, thankfully for them, it is not up to me.

View and keep track of, the list, and personally, I'd advise avoiding every damn program listed on there.

I agree, and I find it equally disgusting when "respectable" companies like Amazon and ZDNet route legitimate content through ATS, so that it becomes impossible to block the ATS without blocking access to the legitimate content. Maybe it's time for the creation of another Hall of Shame for companies that engage in this practice, along with ATS that have had to be removed from hpHosts solely for this reason.

The part that I found astonishing was that no one had commented on it before! ;) I saw it only recently, when I first joined the hpHosts forums, and it remains as cogent as when it was first posted.
