Beware twitter.com users, twatter.c0m is looking to grab your passwords and run off with your account!

Zap

Weird.

All I got was a pop-up password entry box.

Maybe it changes mode depending on your location?

Zap :?:

Edit: Should have read to the end...

"** For you that care, Twitter has no business model in place yet. How is it going to make money once the millions of investment dollars disappear? They are going to have to sell advertising somehow. Or maybe they will start charging for SMS messages. As you might have guessed, there is no Twatter. All joking aside, Twitter was a cool idea and I hope they can make it profitable."

So yes, this is a valid case of typosquatting.

Zap :)

I too think cellphones amount to little but an electronic leash. Everyone can demand your attention whenever they want if you have one.

If you turn it off, it rats on you by saying "The cellphone you are trying to reach is not taking calls at this time." Like, "Why not just send them to voicemail??? Noooo, you have to tell them I am in a don't disturb me mood. Like they don't matter anymore."

Putting them in an RF tight coffin seems to work somewhat, then the message changes to "The cellphone you are trying to reach has traveled out of the service area." But then everyone asks you "Where did you go? I've been trying to get ahold of you all day!"

So I too, do not, and if I can avoid it, will not own a cellphone. They can just wonder what I am doing, who I am doing, where I am doing it, how I'm doing it, and why I am doing it.

Now, oddly enough I do find use for twitter. It's kind of like a miniature email-handling subscription service, where you can have express control over who sends you bulk messages. What I use it for is...
  • Getting security news updates.
  • Sending out an update if I find something salacious and hot re:security.
  • Some general good karma spreading and
  • OH... and sending out info on ZB Block updates, the main reason I got involved there.
The "following" section of my page there looks (and is looking more and more each day) like a who's who of Computer Security. It's rather handy in that regard. Also, I have kept on top of banning/blocking spam followers, tho I have one now that I can't figure out just yet, if she's really a spammer, or just a foreigner who doesn't speak alot of English.

Anyway, Twitter is just another tool. I just happen to use it through the web interface & Pidgin (Formerly GAIM), instead of a GDMF cellphone.

Zap :)

P.S. My twitter page, if ya give a plump sewer rodent's rump, is https://twitter.com/spambotsecurity
