Hello Steven,

I hope all is well with you and yours. I am trying to get my laptop up to snuff. It never seems to end does it? For some reason my HostsMan is not properly updating. See attachment.

Also, I am having difficulties with my password. I have been away so long that I forgot my password so I got a new temporary on to sign in. I have been trying to change it to something like my old one but I am getting no where trying to do it. What to do?

Cheers,
Anne

Update 01/24/16

I just updated my HostsMan today and for some reason it worked with no problem. What caused it to fail the first time?

BTW, I still need to change my password from the hard to remember one assigned to me when I forgot my old one. Please tell me where to go on this site to do so.

Sorry for the delay.

To change your password, click "User Control Panel" then "Profile" and then "Edit account settings".

Usually that's caused by a connection/DNS server issue.

DO I need to do a dns flush? It's been a while since I have done one. Would you please tell me if that is what I need to do if, in fact, that is the action to take?

Unfortunately, it depends on where the issue is (internal or external - sometimes servers go awry).

In the case of internal, restarting the machine/router will determine if it is indeed internal.

Hello Steven,

Just so you know; I am getting assistance from Malwarebytes right now because my machine is very slow. I was given some very good advice to do one fix at a time and that is what I will do for now on. I am putting this thread on the back burner and will come back to it as soon as I can.

Thank you very much,
Anne :)
