This is a new application and provides (so far);

1. Simple viewing and exporting of e-mails (includes the details of whoever sent it, the text version of the e-mail, HTML version of the e-mail, and it's headers!!), see the attached .txt file for example output

2. Simple and quick saving of attachments

3. Simple and quick exporting of an entire folder of e-mails (the primary reason I wrote it)

Main thing I'm working on at the moment, is allowing it to bypass the god awful prompt that Outlook displays when the application loads (asks if you want to allow it access, and if so, for how long (upto 10 mins)). Doesn't seem to be a way to bypass this atm.

If the e-mail has an attachment, you'll see a little red icon next to it (I know I know, but it's the best one I had at hand at the time)

Notes:

This application has been tested on Windows XP SP2 with Microsoft Outlook 2003 ONLY!. It currently ONLY works with Outlook (i.e. it doesn't work with Thunderbird).

In addition, this program also requires the CDO library for the headers to be included.

Tom found a bug with Outlook Ultimate ....... fixed in this one Smile

/edit

... and if you get an ActiveX error when trying to view the e-mails contents, it means you've not got CDO installed (haven't put error handling in for it yet), but you can grab it at;

Just over 1MB.

0.0.3

Added: Stop loading current folder button
Added: Scan attachments with your chosen antivirus (Tools menu)
Added: Monitor for new e-mails (Tools menu)
Added: Check links in e-mails against hpHosts database (Tools menu)

Other: Various other modifications

I'm still working on adding Outlook Express support but as OE doesn't expose any usable COM objects, it's gonna take a little longer than I'd like ....

Was wondering, I don't recall specifically but were the OE attachments stored in the temp under the IE5 ? I don't know if you can extract from there for back up or not Question Or is the COM issue communicating with the OE e-mail itself to back it up\extract it? Do I know what I'm talking about? Where...am...I...???

Cheers,

Paul

0.0.4

I'm afraid most of the updates to this were done several days ago and I didn't document them (got distracted by something else).

There's a few bug fixes, one or two additions and err ..... something else, lol

Still to come;

1. Outlook Express support (proving to be a PITA to add)
2. MITM (Man in the Middle) for use as a K9 (from Robin Keir) alternative
3. PhishTank integration (once I find a decent method other than SSL or POST)
4. ..... have I forgot anything?
