This is a small application I've written to monitor website's.

Current features

1. Online/offline status
2. Server IP
3. hpHosts status

Features still to include

1. Server IP change monitor
2. WhoIs change monitor
3. Website content monitor
4. Website status code (e.g. 404, 302, 501 etc etc)
5. FULL rDNS*
6. Network monitoring via UNC paths

* At present, it only resolves an IP to a single hostname. I'd like to implement a feature thats currently available on Domain Tools, to have it return all domains listed at the IP (I'm also planning to add this feature to hpHosts Online eventually). I'm not entirely sure whether or not this feature belongs in this program however, so comments welcome ......

Feel free to suggest new features, fixes and other such.

If it works correctly, you should see something similar to;

Known issues

1. Stopping the monitor, then starting it, then stopping it, doesn't always stop it properly

2. As you can see in the screenshot, a file that clearly exists, is shown as not existing (not sure why, but will be looking into this one)

3. Tom pointed out that the first couple of versions I sent him, weren't liked very much by Windows. Again, I'm not sure why as it doesn't delete or modify anything on the system - it just checks website's (cheers for this Microsoft, as if I don't have enough things to do)

Let me know what you think, what could be improved (besides it's current speed), what could be added/modified etc, and most importantly, how it works on your computer.

Addendum

The current icon has been pilfered from Xandros, and obviously needs replaced, if you're feeling creative, please feel free to create new one's Smile.

Additionally, the name is not finalised, so if you can think of a better one, feel free to let me know Smile

System Requirements

Note: These are a guide only

CPU: 350Mhz
RAM: 128MB
Browser: Any
Windows*: XP or above
Other: Internet connection

* This program has only been tested on Windows XP Pro SP2

OK, I think I found a bug. Shocked

Each time I try to check a site, like my own...I lose my Net connection. Sad

From both of my machines no less. Router goes offline and comes back on in about 10 seconds.

I thought the tool usage was essentially to hi-light the domain and click the green 'check-mark' icon? Am I missing something else? Surely I don't have to RTFM? Mr. Green

Another request\suggestion from my blogger buddy is that he was asking if there is any way to save the data collected in some form?

I stumbled upon a link which when I used vURL, it displayed hundreds of links, all the same content in Russian so I suggested we use this new tool to see which were actually online as some are some are not, but thats another topic, look for some more details at my place later in weekend.

You can change the method (XML, IDR, ICMP etc) via the settings Smile .... Immitate Browser should work best for most people (and will be the default in the next release)

Ok, thanks Steven, I'll give it a shot later on and pass the info about data collection.

OK, so where are the settings hidden at? Don't see anything in any drop down menus. <descriptive head scratch in lieu of emote>
