I've moved this to the correct forum Smile

The settings shown on the How To page is actually the default settings now, so don't need to be changed.

I'd actually forgotten to update that page to reflect the changes, so will update it asap Smile

At present, a re-start is unfortunately required for the process to work.

I am however, planning an alternative that will hopefully see this requirement made optional, so it can be done without requiring it, but due to the complexity involved, this is going to take some time (2.10 was actually meant to be 3.0, but I couldn't get the feature to work properly so it was removed until I could get it to work).

Hi, may I ask for help?

I ran index.dat suite (free, last version) with its defaults. As the system re-started, I panicked while seeing the DOS messages about the utility normally working in Win98SE.
Although I had got the backup map, I de-installed the utility, as I saw no internet history available anymore and tried to use Norton UNerase. All this due to the fact that I could not find any adequate help in the Help file concerning the use of the Backup files.

Now, I have reinstalled the utility the same day, but I cannot see how I could make use of the backup map files.

Please, can you explain and help me in order to get the dat files backed up and sized 12.5 Mb again restored if posssible? - THX.
