2.11.0 has been released folks, primarily as an interim bug etc fix, until I get time for a re-write and the time to resolve the issues with Vista/7.

Updates

Added: Detection for Windows 7
Modified: Deletion facilities disabled for Vista/7 users (until bug is fixed)

Until the bug is fixed with Vista/7, I'd suggest using IDS to find the index.dat files, and Eraser (open source) to delete them;

Misc: Other misc modifications

However it says

Eraser 6 Stable released!

Eraser 6 stable has been released after being for 2 years in development. Eraser 6 sports a completely revamped user interface, and Windows XP/Vista/7 support out of the box. Eraser 6 now allows users to use the context menu in Windows Explorer to erase Unused Space on drives with UAC on under Windows Vista and 7.

I'll try it on my XP Pro system.

I find CCleaner adequate for cleaning index.dat files.

Cool :)

I tend not to recommend CCleaner since they started bundling rubbish (and yep, I'm aware of the installer that comes without it, but that's besides the point).

I do not want to get into discussion like the Seinfeld episode a bout Yada Yada Yada but I can not get Index.dat Suite to work on XP Pro :?:

I un-installed Index.dat Suite then installed the new version and did the scan that found the index.dat files then I generated a removal but WinPatrol did not pop up the usual modification of RunOnce entry and after reboot just the idsuite_run.bat appears with no defrag like I selected.

What logs would you like to see?

Bleedin figures, if it's not one thing, it's another :(

Can you send me the applog and bfglog please.

If possible, can you also change it so it only scans the C drive, and let me know if it includes the defrag in that case (worked fine here, but evidently I've broken something again :()

Logs attached.

I tried to attach the generated run.bat but it does not accept it so I renamed it .log

According to the log file, it was added, so it's got me confused. Leave it with me and I'll try and work out what's going on.

Code:
10-04-2010 05:58:16 Include defrag command: 1
10-04-2010 05:58:16 Defrag: [Ibm_preload] C:\
10-04-2010 05:58:16 DEBUG: Defrag - C:\
10-04-2010 05:58:16 Adding Command: defrag C: -f
10-04-2010 05:58:16 Finished checking defrag status

I tried with only the C: drive detection selected and changed idsuite_run.bat to idsuite.bat then I generated a removal and WinPatrol did pop up the usual modification of RunOnce entry this time and after reboot just the idsuite.bat appears but no defrag happened like I selected.
