ADvise please. Last step in installing index.dat suite requests Frontpage disc. My system Xp pro and has MSFrontpage installed. I have checked that required VB6 runtime files present . I can out from the installation process and try and load index.dat with same result. Any suggestions appreciated. Tks

I'm a little baffled to be honest, as Index.dat Suite has never used or required, anything related to Frontpage.

The only thing I can suggest is to try either the Basic installation (if you've not already), or use the No-install package.

Good Afternoon, I uninstalled ID datasuite and downloaded no-install. Launching ID suite.exe results in messagebox1 Frontpage message "Please wait while windows configures MSFrontpage 2002" then messagebox2 "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or other removable disc that is not available. Please insert "Microsoft Frontpage 2002" disc and click OK.

Clicking cancel on this messagebox2 shows messagebox3 with info re error code 1706 for MS office 10. (This relates to setup not finding required disc.) Clickinging OK produces Messagebox1 again.

Launching Task manager show Indexdat suite and Frontpage as running.

I have clicked on the messgae boxes referred to above and after a number of instances Indexdat suite displays and it seems to run OK but I have not proceeded with it to any extent as yet.

Grateful for any ideas, Regards

Hi, In the interests of not wasting your time on a problem not in your domain please note:

I do use VB6 periodically. Today I launched VB6 for the first time for some time and lo and behold "Please wait while windows configures MS Frontpage 2002........"

I am wondering if I have an association problem with any application using the comdlg32/msccomctl/richtx32 ocx's. Don't have any idea how to figure that out but if you do please advise........

Sorry for taking so long.

The behaviour you're seeing actually looks like a corrupt Windows installer and/or some of it's registry files. I'd strongly urge you re-install this before trying anything else;

Tks for that. I have uninstalled ID suite, downloaded and installed installer update, reinstalled ID suite but problem remains. I'll continue my research and grateful for anything further you may suggest.

The only thing I can actually suggest, is to completely remove MS Office (if installed) and Frontpage, then re-install them.

I'll see if I can get this reproduced (not at home at present, but have Frontpage at home, and will be back there within 24-48 hours or so)

Hi Steven, OK, I have removed Frontpage, run a registry clean up and every thing is sweet.
The reinstallation of Frontpage was not so simple (messages re system files update can not be run etc.) but after some research and a parameter /jm that is now OK.

Many thanks your help.

Regards Grahame
