Miss you over at CoU too.

Lots of things have changed here for me.
Moved last year after 18 years and go a place that cost 3 times more but it is more then just a room. Old lady went into care home and sold the place so had to move and rent is not cheap so pay a lot more rent now.

Got new Dell with XP Pro also and first LCD monitor and it's a nice big 22"

Then end of year was not so good after heart attack but doing better now.

Also home prices dropped so much that I am looking into buying. Got programs to help out etc and there are some home that are also in better parts of town that have lower prices. I can get my own place and pay less then rent. Then if I rent out a room I can get more money.

Oh yea I stopped smoking too after the heart attack

I miss CoU but The Right To Bear Arms and I do not see eye to eye and when people started posting pictures of their little pocket blasters that they carry for "Protection" I lost it and said by by.

I'm now in a comfortable rent subsidized apartment after doing the rooming house shuffle for 4 years and I have my own bathroom and kitchen and responsible for my own mess.

My 2 systems have LCD screens due to space limitations and I love them but they aren't 22" but 17" for Vista and 15" for XP Pro but I have had that monitor since 2002.

In March I had enough saved up for a Vista Home Premium system so I purchased just the system unit only from a local shop and moved all the peripherals from the XP Pro system to it and moved the peripherals from my real old XP Home system to it.

The old XP Home system is still runnining but I want to sell it but nobody can afford it.

Sorry to hear that you and who ever did not get along.

Hey that is great new on a new place you got. I also like the day before the heart attack had an subsidized apartment I could of gotten into. They are great in that your rent, gas, elc. can not be more then 30% of your income so the rent would of been cheap.
But these are in the very old housing projects and you have to be out of your mind to live there in that part of town or are in real need of a place.
So I could of had a great deal but at what cost. I would I bet have my truck broken into a lot and other things like that. This place was build in the 1930 from the looks.

Wow a 22" screen will really seem big to you if your using a 15". That is to small for me. I started with a 17" and then moved to a 19" flat screen. It a way I still like that 19" flat screen better because of the deep rich colors of a CRT.
I had the 1024x768 on the 19" and the default on the 22" is 1680x1050 I think or a little smaller but it is hard to read the text so I have it at 1280x768.

So I moved up from 98SE to...
Dell, Vostro 410, Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 (2.40GHz, 1066FSB 2X4M L2)
3GB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHZ 2X1GB+2X512MB
Dell 22 inch Wide UltraSharp 2208WFP Digital Flat Panel - I like the 20" better because it has a shinny looking screen and to me I like it better.
Windows XP Pro,SP2,Vista Business with Media,Desktop
Got two 160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive 7200RPM, 8MB Cache

Came with Windows XP Pro,SP2 and got the same on CD and Vista Business on CD also if I want to install it.

At the price you can get a new computer why get a used one unless it's really cheap.
