Well, the first beta is officially here

I've included a basic help file. Please take a look and let me know if there's anything I've left out , in the meantime, I'll start working on the additional monitors.

What is Site Online?

Site Online is a small but useful program to help determine a website/servers online/offline status using either ICMP, TCP/IP, Immitate Browser (uses URLDownloadToFile API) or MS XML.

The current features include;

• Monitor HTTP or UNC path
• Continuous or single pass monitoring
• Comparison validation
• hpHosts inclusion status
• Obtain Servers IP
• Obtain webpage size (in bytes)
• Print/Save results
• Send URL to vURL Desktop Edition or vURL online edition
• Send URL to SiteAdvisor
• Send URL to TrustedSource
• Server response code (i.e. 200, 404, 501 etc)

Got it downloaded Steve I see what you mean with the icon though, wth? I don't know why that's happening. I am going to try something else but I think the ico type won't work with transparency until it's on the desktop which is typical, but still rough edged, etc... I won't be happy until it looks decent for ya man. I'll see if I can find out what's going on. And create something else plus make you the tiny display icon above. I'll get working right now!
